July 12, 200421 yr Hi,I was wondering if it was possible for simmers to buy/get route manuals/chart packs like the ones airlines issue to their pilots?I know this is a bit off topic, but I couldnt find a better forum to post in.Thanks
July 14, 200421 yr Of course, companies like Jeppesen are happy about everyone wishing to pay money for thir products :).Yours,Martin Georg/EDDFVACC-SAG PR & Events Coordinator *** mailto:[email protected]http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...r=SAG01&a=a.jpg Cheers, Martin Georg/EDDF Contributing editor, FS-Magazin
July 17, 200421 yr Take a look here :https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/index.htmlFind some useful information in "Planning/Enroute Docs" (For each country: vertical separation, cruising levels, route restrictions...).Find some charts too in the "enroute charts" section. For planning in Europe, see the RAD (Route Availability Document) here:http://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/rad/index.htmYohann.
July 18, 200421 yr Hi,Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know a place where I can buy/get outdated versions of the subscriptions that airlines buy? Thanks
July 18, 200421 yr Hi,If you're looking for outdated charts anyway, perhaps you're interested in Jeppesen SimCharts: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0999/simcharts/simcharts.shtmlCheers,http://home.planet.nl/~duijn181/cu2/koen.jpg
July 19, 200421 yr If you want charts for the US you can get the NACO/FAA charts which are much cheaper than Jepp charts (real 'current' Jepp charts, not SimCharts). I got a complete set of NACO charts for the US in early 03' from iPilot.com for a reasonable amount, though, they are now cheaper, and include Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, which they didn't in 2003. http://www.ipilot.com/shop/product.aspx?pid=10163 Even though my set is a bit dated, I find them VERY useful. They're in bounded book format and I just pull the 3 books I'll need for my flight (departure, enroute alternate, and arrival). They've also got high and low enroute charts that are quite a bit cheaper than the Jepp enroute charts. Suggest you look around at iPilot and see if you can't find something to suit your needs. Of course, if you're looking for charts other than the US you'll need to go to another source, like Jeppesen. My next chart purchase will be the Q-service from Jeppesen for the entire US, so I can sell/give my 'old' charts to fellow simmers. ;) http://www.ipilot.com/shop/product.aspx?pid=14343
July 20, 200421 yr You can download in .pdf format and print whatever you want for free regarding US IAP/DP/STAR and airport diagram, updated, at:http://204.108.4.16/index.asp?xml=naco/online/d_tpp
