May 6, 200521 yr Hi Patrick,Check your PM for the JNB plates... :)You can find wind & temperature charts for the Indian Ocean at the U.S. National Weather Service's website:http://aviationweather.gov/iffdp/fdwndd.phphttp://aviationweather.gov/iffdp/fdwnde.phpCheers,http://home.planet.nl/~duijn181/cu2/koen.jpg
May 19, 200521 yr I'm sorry to bother but can i have them as well?On a more general way.. is there a good and extensive source for charts online?I was also thinking to buy some packages but got lost among the jeppesen catalog and I can't use their software since I'm on mac :(Thanks!
May 20, 200521 yr Hi,The simple answer to you question is no. However, it seems more and more countries are putting aeronautical information on-line, usually for free.If you take a look here http://www.caas.gov.sg/caas/level3_externa...D=1089485489963 for example, you'll find all real world, up-to-date charts of Singapore (why doesn't the url HTML-tag work for me!?).To find other countries that publish their info this way, I suggest you go to http://www.eurocontrol.int/ais/ and check the links pages. If you're looking for charts in Europe, go to http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/publicuser/...ic/pu/login.jsp (it's free to register!). There you'll be able to find about 90% of the European charts.Another source of charts is DAFIF, and can be found here: https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/t...h/term_Main.cfmIf you don't find the charts you're looking for via the above websites, you can always do a search on the web to see if any virtual airline or anyone else uploaded them. But they'll probably be outdated then...(Check your PM for the FAJS charts...)Cheers,http://home.planet.nl/~duijn181/cu2/koen.jpg
May 20, 200521 yr Thanks Koen :)I usually check teh websites you mentioned but for many countries or continents (Africa, Cartribeans, Asia) it is quite hard to find charts, even doing web based searches.Since I am a simple virtual pilot it makes no sense to buy jeppesen charts (too expensive ;)) but I'm thinking about simcharts 3.0 to have charts, even if outdated. The Eurocontrol website is fantastic, only pity is that they programmed the Java application to run only on windows... so it gets a bit more complicated and time consuming for me :(Thanks for teh suggestions!ciao, michael
