Hi, would anyone be able to pass this on please? Heard UAE435 it got the CG1A STAR which is unusual for a plane coming from Auckland to Bris, wondering how it got there..Also UAE432, SIN-BNE, if possible? Thanks a lot...
Hmmm I can't really make a comment on Kai Tak. The arrival routing is so long because Guangzhou usually don't give descent clearances to Hong Kong bound traffic. It is this way at the new airport with the SIERA arrivals. The traffic needs those extra track miles to get down, so they extend the arrival throughout Hong Kong airspace. What happens sometimes is ZGZU (Guangzhou Control) gives a descent clearance to FL170 by SIERA, traffic permitting, and flights are given radar vectors and lots of track shortening. I assume the same would have happened at Kai Tak from TAMOT to CH.
Hey Bob,http://hk.vatsea.net/airports/VHHX_AR.pdfThese are not real world charts by any means, but give a great idea of what the 'inbounds' into Kai Tak were, Europe-Hong Kong was usually on B330 all the way down to TAMOT before starting the procedure.
