November 23, 200520 yr I have been flying NRT-SFO and back, but it seems http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ is not quite realistic on this point. Is there anyone that has actual flightplans for flights going to and from Asia to and from the US?Boaz...
November 24, 200520 yr Unfortunately, that is only going to provide the data for flights originating inside US airspace (SFO-NRT leg). He will need assistance from another flight planning site for flights originating outside US airspace to get the NRT-SFO plan.
November 25, 200520 yr On the Analysis link you can also catch full routings to the US if you're lucky. I caught DAL107 from EDDF to KJFK with a full routing today.
November 26, 200520 yr I couldn't find a plan for the RJAA-KSFO leg at the moment but here you have today's UAL882 going to O'Hare.CALMA G344 CARTO R336 ADK 5200N 17000W 5200N 16000W 5100N 15000W 5000N 14000W PRETY TAMRU TOU J523 SEA J70 MLP J36 DIK J70 ABR J90 BRIBE
November 27, 200520 yr thank you for that one!I have found flights going to the US, but that is from Europe and it started in Canada... But this one it seems starts way before Alaska...Boaz..
November 27, 200520 yr This one is not a real one but one I've built for myself last week upon recent planning documents and therefore should be valid (except maybe the RJGG departure procedure which I'm unsure):(FPL-NWA72-IS-B744/H-SDHIRWYZ/C-RJGG0355-N0498F330 DCT DF DCT CVC OTR11 KAGIS/N0496F340 A590 PUGAL/M085F350 A590 PINSO/M085F370 A590 PORGE/N0500F370 A590 AMOTT DCT YESKA NCA20 OMSUN/N0496F390 NCA20 BIMRO NCAL60 YOJ NCA13 YQD/N0480F410 J596 YWG J89 DLH J38 GRB DCT MKG POLAR1-KDTW1045 KCLE-EET/PAZA0228 CZEG0632 CZWG0828 KZMP0924 DOF/051122)Fuel info for the PMDG 744 (in tons):ZFW = 208.7TLDG FUEL = 13.0TTRIP FUEL = 112.0TTAXI FUEL = 1.0TTTL FUEL = 126.0 T
November 29, 200520 yr Many thanks for that!I am just not sure why the west bound planes use coordinates and none of the airway waypoints published, could that be because of winds, that they fly a more northern route?Boaz...

November 30, 200520 yr >Many thanks for that!>I am just not sure why the west bound planes use coordinates>and none of the airway waypoints published, could that be>because of winds, that they fly a more northern route?>>Boaz...Westbound airplanes almost always fly a polar route, because of the winds, yes
December 1, 200520 yr >Westbound airplanes almost always fly a polar route, because>of the winds, yesYes, just take a look on a wind map and you'll understand:http://wxmaps.org/pix/ea5.00hr.pnghttp://aviationweather.gov/data/products/s...0_06_CL_new.gifThe typical winter jetstream is now well established over Japan and western Pacific, with predicted winds up to 170KT (!!!) at FL400 for tomorrow east off Japan.Eastbound flights, not going too far to the north, take advantage of this very powerful jetstream whenever it's worth the extra mileage. For that they use the daily PACOTS (Pacific Tracks, similar as the daily NATs, North-Atlantic tracks) issued by NOTAM. PACOTS can be found here:https://www.notams.jcs.mil/ (click on Pacific Tracks). When filed in a IFR flightplan PACOTS are not designated as is but just by their coordinates and fixes such as "38N140W" or "SEALS".Westbound flights generally plan a more northerly route that:- Is closer to the great circle route (=best mileage)- Avoid the strongest headwinds between 30N and 40N.For this every westbound flight, unless maybe those originating from the US west coast, will route via Alaska most of the time.Hope this is clear :)
