High Altitude Airway route question

Featured Replies

I've been playing around with many of the flight plans here in this forum in my PMDG 737. I have a question that I havn't been able to track down. Looking at an Alaska Airlines flight plan from pdx to las, it beginsairplane tail number J159 DSD DCT YERIN etc...My question, is how do you find a way point on the J159 to join the airway. I have the en-route planning chart, but for that region, the airway originates at the Battle Ground VOR and there are no waypoints listed on the chart. This happens with may plans that have the airway as the starting point. Thanks all. Having a ton of fun. ColinPortland, Oregon

Hi. I am looking at the charts and yes it does not have any waypoints.ATC would probably vector the plane and point in the direction to join the airway J159 or it may tell it to fly direct to DSD.Hope this helps.Nebojsa
