O/T - IE6 cache doesn't work! Operas cache does!

I remember with the old version of IE 3.2 - the cache worked perfectly . Click on "BACK " button and it went back to the previous page instantly.Then somewhere along the way (ver4, 5, 5.5 or 6) , it got broken and has remained broken. Now, when you click "BACK" , sometimes it instantly displays the previous page - but mostly it goes away and redownloads the page . This also happens when you click "Save" - it redownloads the page that you are looking at onscreen before saving . I know this because I have an external modem and I can see the lights working.I have tried every conceivable setting in the Temporary Internet Files settings page - but to no avail.Anbody got any ideas how to get around this -- I have just tried OPERA Ver 7 and the cache works beautifully - that is enough to make me change over after all these years.Barry
