November 30, 200223 yr Hi! Anyone knows what is the message mean? I saw it several times with ActiveSky 2002 1.5 which crashed on the background already.Thank you.Li
December 1, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi Li,This is an OVERFLOW error probably caused by something strange in the METAR report that ActiveSky can't handle. If you send me the METAR report causing this I can investigate. December 3, 200223 yr Hi Damian, Great program. I got the same error somewhere in southern California. I dabble with Visual Basic so here goes.... I got an Overflow error. Looking at the metar til my eyes crossed I think I may have figured it out. the winds and the visibility didn't have a space between them. Don't know if this is the problem or not."KIAD 020155Z 3000510SM " that was the only unusual thing I could seeChris
December 3, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi Chris!Yep that would do it. Winds are being reported in knots yet there is not the standard KT suffix, in addition the winds and visibility are being combined into one data element. I've never seen this one before! /g/ Not sure how to handle this one easily, but FWIW wxRE now gracefully handles these parse errors on rogue reports instead of crashing out (it just skips the report until it gets a better one). It can also be manually fixed using the custom write feature!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 4, 200223 yr Hi! Here is the report when overflow happenRCFS 0440 00000KT 5000 HZ SCT012 BKN050 22/15 Q1016 RMK A3001MKG 3K:2709-06 6K:2812-13 9K:3025-15 12K:2936-18 18K:2965-26
December 4, 200223 yr In my experience it always happened~ it will happened for sure if i ran it over 2 hours..... so seems can't use the program at all..BTW, this is a really nice program, but if we want to throw this fatal error out, must purchase the wxRE right?
December 4, 200223 yr Commercial Member Aha.. that one was caused by the double altimeter report.. fixed now :)

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 4, 200223 yr Commercial Member Well I wouldn't quite put it that way. wxRE is significally more advanced than 2002 and has more handling of bad METAR or unexpected METAR data. One solution for better results here is to try wxRE. Another solution is to use 2002 v1.5 and delete out the ICAO station causing that error.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
