December 6, 200223 yr Hi guys, how about some screens of this awesome programm? :) ok these should wet your apetite! regards,Mark / EDDT
December 8, 200223 yr Those shots look fantastic.Could you post a few screen shots sometime of a plane approaching a distant front?I guess you'd have to have the right 'real world' conditions to do that though.I'm wanting to be convinced that I can fly into/around distant weather. See, I've ordered RCv.3 and contemplating getting FlightMax and I want to know if it's possible to actually see a front off in the distance, have it displayed on FlightMax, and then fly towards and enter the front, or climb above it etc. I would like to actually be able to fly around localized cloud cells/visible weather systems like thunderstorms - not just suddenly be in one and then it's gone. When I ask for "deviations left and right of course for weather" it would be nice to actually have something to fly around. My current METAR program does not create this kind of environment.Damian responded to a thread I posted some time ago about weather transitions/fronts. He suggested I read reviews before purchasing the product. From what I have seen so far, I think it's a bargain at $14.95. I apoligize that my weather related vocabulary is limited, but I've attempted to explain my concerns to the best of my ability.I have no doubt I will buy it...just wanting to know what to expect. Thanks, Adam
December 8, 200223 yr thanks for your comment :) about your weather-question...i think thats a limitation of fs2k2, so to my knowledge its not possible, but with wxRE i often thought "hmmmm" ;) so damian might clear this up for you.regards,Mark / EDDT
December 9, 200223 yr Commercial Member Greetings,Distant weather objects that relate to weather radar objects, etc., are not qutie possible yet. We are working on this but it depends on having more SDK tools available to us in the weather department. We are keeping our fingers crossed for FS2k4.HOWEVER, due to the way FSFlightMax and wxRE integrate with FS and each other, it IS possible to see distant weather conditions on the radar and then manuever around them to avoid the blunt of it, which you WILL experience if you keep flying into it. While the logic here is not based on DISTANT WEATHER OBJECTS persay (it works via computation of METAR reports), it still gives you fairly accurate and "avoidable" weather conditions. Hope this helps..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 9, 200223 yr Yes, it does help and thankyou.I look forward to the program. Having smooth cloud transitions alone will be of great benefit. Thanks, Adam
