December 13, 200223 yr Just suffering from a little confusion...which happens to me quite often ;)I've downloaded and read the manual for wxRE...excellent reading (very well written). The scenario: I want wxRE to operate in "Dynamic" mode.1) I'm sitting at my PC on the East Coast (Connecticut), let's say it's 8Pm EST2) in FS2K2 I have "System time" selected under Settings-General3) in wxRE Options, I have the "Time Zone/UTC conversion" of -5 entered4) in wxRE Options, I selected "Use System Time for Processing"5) everything else is set per the manual6) okay, it's 8Pm EST realtime but I want to fly in daylight so I change the time to 2pm EST under FS2K2-World-Time & Seasonquestion 1) is wxRE processing weather in "Dynamic" mode, using the actual 8Pm EST system time and the current METARs and TAFs?question 2) this might seem silly, but if everything is correct above for "Dynamic" mode, why would I want to select "Flight time" in FS2k2 or unselect "Use System Time for Processing" in wxRE? I'm filled with curiousity...and still confused ;)Thanks in advance for "dis-confusing" me! I'm very excited about this product (hurry up and release it, Damian! :) I'm gonna bust!)Brad "my brain hurts" Dykes
December 13, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi Brad,1) Yep, you got it..2) If you want to fly "ahead" or "past", using FS time is an easy way to do it. This is more geared for OFFLINE use when using older weather files (where you want to fly in those offline weather files and have the timeline match for dynamic processing). The same can be accomplished with system time, but it requires either changing your system clock or altering the UTC conversion value. Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

December 13, 200223 yr Brad, the UTC time conversion works really well in practice.I live in the UK & currently have it set to zero.I have done some test flights in the US, & have had FS set to the local US time, and have had no problems getting correct Met Info.Mark
