Parse error

Featured Replies

I have recently changed ISPs and am having difficulty running Activesky 1.5. - I get the parse error message no matter where I am and winds aloft download times out.Now this new ISP enforces the use of their proxy server so my suspicion is that Activesky has problems with proxy servers (FSMeteo seems to). Grateful if someone could provide assistance.Bruce WTB

Hi Bruce,I think it may be some other problem with your ISP (not proxy). Can you try http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/metar.shtml and see if you can pull up a METAR? Let me know.. thanks-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table

Thanks Damian I will give it a try. However I have just installed the freeware version of Weather Centre and at first I couldn't get it to work either. But once I specified my ISPs proxy server and its port (Weather Center includes explicit support for proxy servers) it worked. I know this is an issue with FSMeteo so I still suspect proxying is the culprit.I can get metars OK from your the site you specified.RegardsBruce

Thanks Damian. No problems with pulling down METARS as per your suggestion. In the meantime I have installed the freeware version of Weather Center. At first I couldn't get it to work either. Now this weather utility includes explicit proxy server support and once I used the facility to specify a proxy server and its port it worked. So I still suspect proxying is an issue with Activesky as it seems to be with FSMeteo (I have exchanged emails with Marc on this).RegardsBruce
