December 15, 200223 yr I am not trying to compare ActiveWx with FSMeteo but FSMEteo had the capability to downlaod weather several days in the past. How is this accomplished in ActiveWx. I did an approach into KSBY from KPHL and it was solid IFR allthe way. We broke out of the clods on the approach at about 275' with the vis just borderline of 1/2 mile. If I have missed reading this accomplishment in the manula, I apologize for bringing up old news.Kilo_Whiskeyhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...a9241b6b125.jpg
December 15, 200223 yr Since I have not gotten a response, am I to take it that no one knows or it just is not feasible with Activesky :(Kilo_Whiskeyhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...a9241b6b125.jpg
December 15, 200223 yr Could be no one has tried it yet. I may be giving it a go tonight, so I'll let you know.Glenn
December 15, 200223 yr PS - I have downloaded older weather from several hours ago though! That works just fine.Glenn
December 15, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hello,There are no facilities for downloading "archived" weather data.. the download is from NOAA instead of private servers and NOAA does not store archived weather (only for 24 hours). The solution is to either a) download yourself and save for later or :( find an archive site I am sure there are some spots on the net that have some archived weather files? Perhaps some could share the links? Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 15, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hmmm.Is anyone interested in a "Weather Archive" for the new hifisim.com site that is going online soon? I can make facilities for anyone to upload a full ASwxRE weather file set (in .zip format) for any date and this will then be available on the site for any user. This system, to be worth it, would depend on users actively uploading weather sets whenever the weather gets good :) Do you folks think it would work? I can do something like this in a weeks time or so...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 15, 200223 yr Yeah, I could be very interested in that Damian. Just not sure what you mean by "actively uploading weather sets whenever "the weather gets good"" though. However, I often do a flight several days after it was supposed to be done, so that would benefit me for sure. Your other alternative is good too though, where you download a set during the actual day, then store it for later. If there's enough interest in your idea though, it would certainly work for me.GREAT program Damian! Thanks!Glenn
December 15, 200223 yr I think that it would be a good option....Reason being......I am a flight dispatcher/pilot and I enjoy downloading weather, especially bad wx conditions, that i have encounted from any given time to play different scenarios in the Sim.We also use past weather for traning purposesKroswyndhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...a9241b6b125.jpg
