December 15, 200223 yr Damian, can you see any possibility of impact of local pressure on the layers' altitudes relative to the ground in WXRE? Thanks!
December 15, 200223 yr Commercial Member Eh?Actually the most important factor is the measured dry adiabatic lapse rate, which we don't get from METARs. The most reliable (and it is not that reliable) measuring value is temperature and dewpoint but we only do this in wxRE when no cloud layer are reported but there is a CAVOK indicator. The pressure is not considered in base height. It IS considered in turbulence, cloud type, cloud thickness, visibility, and more...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
