What area do the offline files cover?.

Featured Replies

HiJust a couple of questions.I,m wondering what data is downloaded for use in offline mode.Does it cover the whole world as the MS default does?Using the same downloaded weather file will it produce different weather depending at which airfield in the world I start at.Will it produce accurate changes in weather as I fly as if I was online?.Can I name and save more than one Offline file then reload when needed?.Just looking to clarify what Offline mode will give as for me this is the mode I would use most. Many thanks for your help.cheersJohn

Hi John,NOAA cycle files are used.. if your station reports to NOAA (most do) then it will be available OFFLINE or ONLINE.Yes it will produce different weather depending on time line (dynamic) if you have TAF processing enabled.Yes the dynamic processing continues in OFFLINE mode as well as ONLINE mode.Yes you can save your offline files however you'd like...Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.. thanks!-damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table

DamianThanks for the Reply.Sounds perfect, Really like the Idea of just one download, disconnect then enjoy some realistic weather regardless of where I want to fly.And even better being able to save them to re-fly that challenging approach again. All the bestJohn
