Hong Kong scenery

Featured Replies

I downloaded and installed the nice Hong Kong scenery from the file library that was created by Thomas Kwong (vhhh_tk.zip) yesterday and installed it. It's very nice scenery, but I found that when I taxi'ed to the runway, the runway was hovering about 3 feet over the ground. I tried to drive onto it, but wound up running into the pavement edge and crashing :D Any suggestions on how to fix this situation?KP

Hi KenI'll have three of whatever you're drinking ...Did you open the SCENERY.CFG file after installing within FS2002 and add the Exclude and Flatten lines? These are they: they should be placed directly under the scenery entry.Exclude=N22 19.67,E113 53.13,N22 17.50,E113 57.30,objects, vorsFlatten.0=11,N22 19.46,E113 56.77,N22 17.57,E113 56.13,N22 16.92,E113 53.05,N22 18.41,E113 52.63Let us know if that works for you, otherwise get tundra tyres on your 747.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Heehee, too late, I drank it all :DAfter installing, I opened the scenery.cfg and pasted the stuff from the readme.doc file. I then made sure in the sim that the scenery was active. I'll give it another go this evening and see if I just goofed somewhere along the way. I'll take a look at the stuff I pasted from the doc file and see if it included the lines you mentioned. Thanks!KP

I reinstalled and it seems to be working fine now. Not sure what the problem was. Thanks!KP

You were probably drinking Hong Kong rather than Philippine San Miguel. There's a big difference. The former, taken in quantity, can distort your perspective. The sort you get in Manila distorts your life, so you would never have found VHHH in the first place.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg
