December 16, 200223 yr Not sure if this has been asked yet, but when using WxRE on vatsim, it rarely can find the ICAO code when i type in the destination to retrieve it's weather. It will give me the TAF data for the destination, but says the code is invalad for the Metar. I tried it with KLAX and KDEN yesterday with no luck, only the TAF data was displayed. If this has already been asked I apologize.
December 16, 200223 yr You can check if it is working by asking the same metar with Servinfo. If the Servinfo VATSIM Metar is down then probably Wxre will be down too.Jos
December 16, 200223 yr Aaahhhh.... That might explain it, I do recall Denver Center saying he was only getting weather from Aspen in all of Denver last night. Thanks for the info!No to go totally Off Topic here... ;-) What the heck is happening to VATSIM lately? Voice communications work about 50% of the time (and yes that's when ATC has the "V" in their callsign), most of the weather reporting stations are down and "autoatis" is down.Seems like they have quite a few issues to work out before they sponser all these "Huge flyins" Should have seen LAX yesterday when the "Rocky Mountain Madness" event kicked off. Seems everyone wanted to fly out of LAX to DEN ;-) I was there already after landing from SFO. There again, Voice was so unreliable that Voice controllers where using text and if you've flown into LAX you know that it's nearly impossible to try and fly an approach and type to ATC ;-)
December 16, 200223 yr The issues you are refering are RW ones? I'm afraid that I can't help there. There are a lot of RW servers maintained by local VACC (ARTCC). One problem is that some users use RW in Fast Modem option and this kills a lot the comunications.Autoatis is down and there is a post in VATSIM newsgroups about that. I think that there is no timeframe for putting up again.About the metars, in Europe as far I know they are ok but...Jos
