Saving METARs features request.

Featured Replies

Hi Damian,First of all I must say CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR WORK and that I like wxRE very much. As I am one of those guys who like to save METARS and use it offline, let me suggest two options that would IMHO improve even more the wxRE functionality:1. It would be nice to include the date in the METAR file names (thus they'd look something like: YYMMDDHH + (.wxd/.met/.taf / .fd). Otherwise, they get overwritten when Zulu time are the same. I know, you can change the file names manually, but having an application with so many features it would be kind of shame to have to rename the files this way.2. The other option that I would like is for wxRE to be able to randomly load saved METAR files at startup. It could be optional via another checkmark in options dialogue. This way you would have different weather every time you start a new flight and wxRE without the need to access the options dialogue. As an experienced systems developer I know I am not asking something that requires to much work and it would make wxRE completely perfect according to my and hope others' needs, too. Thanks in advance.Best RegardsGig

Hi and thanks for the kind words!Your suggestions are much appreciated... Increased offline file management functionality is being worked on currently, and I really like the idea of random offline use option.. I will work on this!
