Hi, i have this problem whem i click on auto-download and create new in the options screen. someone can help me??

what that means is that Activesky is just haveing trouble connecting to NOAA where it gets it downloads... check your connection to http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/metar.shtml if you can connect there ok it should work fine...Also if your connection is under heavy use for eg you are downloading something in the bakground that uses up all you avadable bandwidth that error can happen as well.I am sure that Damian will have a more concise explanation than me..Regards

Hi,Are you using AOL, there is a known problem there that may be causing this..Have you tried changing your UTC hour for download? Sometimes the NOAA cycle files are problematic and a different hour from the one you are trying to get may be corrected (although not as up to date).You must give us more information so we can help you... like an error message? One other thing to consider,I spent 5 minutes getting this error, tried changing the hour, then realized that is was my firewall blocking it. :-rollEverything went fine after I set the app up in my firewall friendly items.Good luck,Roger

Pippo,Do you get the "error or timeout downloading cycle" immediately after pressing the "auto download" button ? Or does it download a few kbs before giving you the error ?If you get the error immediately after pressing the button, you should check to see if your internet connection is up and make sure a firewall isn't blocking the applications connection request.If you get it after a short period of successful downloading time, you need to refer to Damians above suggestions.Good Luck,Roger

I have the same exact problem of pippolegend, and I've noticed that we are both Italian. I get the error as soon as I press Automatic and Create, and everything works fine in ONLINE mode.Could this be related to international settings or something?Thanks!

Hi friends,i've been asking for help since day one but w/o luck; i'm italian tooand cannot use ActiveSky at all (got same error, my internet connection is OK and as we speak http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/metar.shtml is OK).It seems an ActiveSky bug related to international settings. Unfortunately is our turn :-(After an annoying troubleshooting i can say that the program is useless...back to the oldie-friendly FSMeteo.cheers allLuigi ;-)

So, nobody can help us????Should we keep that program locked in a drawer?Should we ask for a refund?Please let us Italian know.Thanks in advanceLuigi ;-)
