December 20, 200223 yr Hi,I'm still experiencing sudden weather transitionsI was wondering if it wouldn't be better then to set a time update interval (like FSMeteo,5 minutes e.g.) instead of updating the weather the whole time everytime I come near a new stationmy weather will be just a little bit more outdated, but won't I have smoother transitions,or is it supposed to have smooth transitions even with the "updating for every new station"-option checked?I have all my FSUIPC settings as suggested in the manual
December 20, 200223 yr Commercial Member Sudden weather transitions.. I hate when that happens.. especially in real life...Anyways, you can accomplish what you want by UNCHECKING the "Update METAR on new station" option. This way it sticks strictly to the update inteveral. Please read the documentation...Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 20, 200223 yr thanks for your inputany-one has a realistic time interval setting that he can sugges?
December 20, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,The default 15 minutes works pretty good. Note that this all depends greatly on where you are flying and how many up-to-date METAR reports are being generated there. Sometimes you may get the more consistent results you are hoping for by increasing this METAR interval, say to 30 minutes and not using the Update METAR on new station option. It really depends.. what area are you flying in? I can take a look when I have some free time and try to give you some suggestions.. December 21, 200223 yr Hi,I mianly fly in Western Europe (maybe a bit vague, but I mostly do medium-haul,so Belgium-France-Germany-Netherlands)I'd really like to have the "update with new station" function to work,as it's weather would be more accurate of course, but currently I really get nasty transitions, really not smooththanks again for your helpregards,Seba
December 21, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,Are you using TAF processing? This will also help the smoothing and weather consistency. Just wanted to check that you are using this..
