December 20, 200223 yr First of all, I LOVE this program! However, let me explain what happened to me last night while on approach to TNCM. I was in heavy rain/fog/low clouds and about 5 miles from the threshold when suddenly, the rain ended, the clouds parted, and I was in the clear!! After landing and taxiing to the gate, the nasty weather misteriously re-appeared. Should I attribute this to passing rain squalls and be done with it or is there a way to stop the wx from changing so abruptly, especially on short final? I have the Force Destination set but it doesn't seem to work that well with the Dynamic Wx active. I like the TAF feature to much to disable it so I'm hoping there's another way. Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.
December 20, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi Jeff,Thanks for the feedback..Not sure why this happened, there are many possibilities and yes it may be related to TAF processing (i.e. the METAR got real old, TAF took over and was severely mis-forecasted, then new METAR came online and weather switched). It is also worth double checking that you have the latest ADVDISP (if you use it and/or RC3) as this caused some problems with proper weather updates...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
