January 2, 200323 yr I've been using ActiveSky wxRE since it was released, and I love it! However everytime their is a low cloud layer it models it perfect on the ground, but once you climb through it all of a sudden you can see the ground. Will this be addressed in the update? Thanks,Wyatt
January 3, 200323 yr Got this as well yesterday...KPHX was my fixed destination. When i arrived there, I could see a nice cloud layer beneath me but i could see through it. ATC told me to go and fly 6000ft. So I did, as soon as i hit 6000ft all went blank, nothing to see, but when I flew 6010 ft, I could see again. And the process repeated itself...6000 ft --> almost no visibility. 6010 ft ---> Better visibility. NO smooth transition here. Got the FSUIPC setting from the ini file from Activesky and all my settings from the manual.Dont get my wrong! I think Activesky is a great product! But sometimes it has this moments when there is no 'smooth' transition at all :(
January 3, 200323 yr Just to be sure it is wxRE that is causing this problem, have you tried the same conditions without wxRE running. In other words, is this a FS2002 problem and not a wxRE problem?Bruce
January 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi,This sounds like FSUIPC graduated visibility. The visibility below was low and at the 6000ft mark is started reducing vis more. This only happens when the cloud layer is at or near the graduated visibility altitude thus giving the appearance that the cloud layer is shifting densitiy quickly.Actually all that is happening is the visibility is getting reduced below 3.5 miles at 6000ft.You can alter the graduated visibility settings in FSUIPC to your preference... (i.e. changing the 6000ft level to 3000ft) Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
