Activesky and ATIS Question

Featured Replies

I've read through the forum and just read the downloaded manual. I'm convinced and will purchase ActiveSky when I get home from work. I have one question, though. Will the FS2K2 ATIS give me an accurate run-down of my ActiveSky weather at either the departure or arrival airport, or must I use the Flightwatch Radio feature? Also I believe I am correct in that Flightwatch Radio is text-only. Therefore I assume I must have scrolling messages turned on (I have them disabled in FSUIPC). If given enough time to catch up, yes ATIS will give you an accurate weather report. Honestly, not really sure about the FSUIPC setting though. When you dload there will be a sample FSUIPC.ini file for you to use or look at.If you have more questions or problems, please post them here!

I've found they don't always match perfectly. First, sometie sI go from ATIS to ground on the radio, and back to ATIS and then ATIs bumps the report letter and it might change. Also, I've seen the Active Sky report things like A2997 and ATIS report altimeter 2998; no idea why. Also I've seen ATIS at destination (after force is on) give a different runway than ATC. (And also approach and tower give different runways.)scott s..
