Odd new issue (after V1.15 update)

Featured Replies

G'day all, I installed the 1.15 update as soon as it was released and found a new bug/issue. During fs2002 flights (aircraft on autopilot and time set at 1x) periodicly the computer would task jump out of fs to the desktop. It was as if I had hit the key combination. This never used to happen. After a little deeper investigating I think that this jump happens when ActiveSky wxRE downloads the latest weather. When I have the update interval set to 10 minutes...it jumps every 10 minutes...when set to 30 minutes...it does it every 30. The jump does not kill FS. I can task jump back into FS and nothing is lost...even on a long flight where it sits minimized all night. So it's not a huge deal, just a small pain. Has anyone else had this issue pop up? Like I said it's new to me with 1.15. Cheers, ML

Try this.Go to FS2002 Settings -General and make shure that Pause on Task box is not checked. That should do the trick.FLY Safe!:-smile12Baper :-cool

Good thought...but it's not.ml

Hi,Haven't heard of this issue before.. Perhaps it has something to do with your internet settings/and or internet programs installed which might be stealing "focus" when a new web page is loaded (NOAA download requests)??? Just a guess but it is something to check. Something is changing focus.. wxRE doesn't do this by itself, but since it is triggering web requests through the "MS Internet Control", it is some place to start looking. Some recommendations to try to rid the problem:Download the latest VB6 runtime files from microsoft (search VB6 runtime).Re-install your web browserCheck all your internet/browser/other application settings to see if something is set to change focus. Try uninstalling or temporarily disabling other applications and/or task bar programs, to isolate the cause..Hope this helps! Let me know the results!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table

I had the same problem with the built-in FS weather. I'm on dialup and when I chose real-world weather the autodialer would minimize FS while it dialed. So it's not specific to ActiveSky...

Figured it out.I'm running a pop-up blocker which does an incredibly good job. Well it was reacting to Activesky's pulling data from the Internet. I disabled the pop-up blocker...no more problems. The post a couple up game me the idea (Activesky uses an IE control 'window' to pull data). Thanks all, Cheers, Mike Lyons
