January 24, 200323 yr I have a couple of questions about time in ActiveSky WxRE:Let's say that I've set my FS time at 10:00 UTC and real world time is 19:00 UTC. How should I set up ActiveSky to get realistic weather? I noticed that in online/live mode always the latest available METAR is used, no matter what the FS time is. It would be unrealistic to fly with weather that is 9 hours later since for example temperatures at morning are usually very different from those in the evening. So should I use offline mode instead, and disable TAF?The same is true for seasonal changes. If it's winter, but I want to fly in summer, using online mode would be unrealistic. But what if I don't have any METAR files from last year's summer? I think it would be a great feature to have a "simulated online" mode where ActiveSky uses FS date and time to produce realistic weather. It probably means access to a server that has METAR archives of at least a whole year.Allard. January 25, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Allard,You can archive your own weather and use FS time to select these "valid times for the cycle" and thus simulate the dynamic range of THAT cycle file. You could also use system time and UTC conversion value adjustments to accomplish the same thing if you want to fly during a different FS time with yet a different simulated wx time.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
