ActiveSky Wind problems

Featured Replies

Good day everybodyIt's been now three days I've been using ActiveSky shareware version.Although I've done all the proper configuration actions to the program itself and FSUIPC 2.9.5 according to the installation hints,I get this strange picture. Every time I climb to a high cruising level(FL100 - FL400) the wind direction changes like crazy all around the clock plus the wind speed which goes to extreme figures(110kts)and back again to normal. This happens every time every flight every place!! I'm using WinXP, FS2002Pro, Squack Box(latest version), FSUIPC 2.9.5,ActiveSky.Besides this, the program works just perfect.Does anybody know what's going on with this wind situation and how can I get rid of this? Thanks in advanceAVRO/LGAV

Well this is my suggestion, but I am one that usually has problems not the answer!:-)First of all uncheck set wind shear sharp in the FSUIPC winds setting. Second, if flying online with squawkbox, go to the option menu and check that ignore real weather is on (checked). This way you get only weather downloade through activesky. That should solve it, I hope.Regards,Bjorn

Hi,You should enable FSUIPC wind smoothing, and adjust the values there to your liking.. this will slow the transitions of wind changes down and prevent large swings as you are experiencing...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table
