February 4, 200323 yr This is the best I've seen yet on FS2002. Overcast, snow, broken tops, felt incredibly real flying through it. Love the patchy vis on approach while transitioning layers.Question: I've noticed with other weather gens and now with ActiveSky WxRE that occassionally I get a low overcast layer, but after passing through it (on the climb) I can look down and see the ground. It's as though the layer dissappears after transition. I've seen it already with AS on the climb.I've also seen (with other gens) where on approach you can see the field with perfect vis, then drop below a specific altitude and vis is gone. This has thrown me right off, you request a visual approach then get into pea soup (have not yet seen this on AS)Any ideas?thx.
February 5, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Kevin thanks!!This has been reported a few times before. Reported fixes:- Reinstall FSUIPC (latest now 2.96)- Confirm all FSUIPC options are correct - confirm your "Attempted Whiteout Fix" is disabled- If you have ADVDISP, re-install with the latest available from www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlAfter trying the above, you might also want to adjust your graduated visibility settings in FSUIPC to preference, along with your cloud transition and METAR update interval rate. Sometimes a wx update is causing the dissapearance. The "Update METAR on new station" option might be better left off in rapidly changing wx.Hope that helps! Thanks again...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
