February 17, 200323 yr Hi! I'm gettin this message when I start or refresh ASwxre. It happends when i'm using Vatsim weather source. Not always but very often. The strange part is that ServInfo that uses the same source works without probs. Is it me who has missed something? My settings:http://www.gavle.to/~anders.eriksson/sky.jpg
February 17, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi there,Can I get the METAR that is causing the error? I stated in my first post that doesn't happend all the time. That is wrong. Haven't been able to use vatsim weather for a week.
February 19, 200323 yr Anders,Almost 12 hours after your last post I tried the VATSIM ESSA and got the same messages. With VATSIM unchecked, a weather report came through. Others were reporting the same thing this past weekend with different airports. Looks like a VATSIM problem to me.
February 20, 200323 yr I confirm that it might be a Vatsim problem, it happened to me this evening at LIMC, had to uncheck Vatsim metars, then all was fine.Regards,Bjorn
February 20, 200323 yr At first I thought so myself but wouldn't Servinfo and Squawkbox have the same problems loading a metar from Vatsim?
February 20, 200323 yr Not necessarily, Anders. ServInfo only downloads and displays the Metar -- it doesn't actually try to interpret it. As for SquawkBox, since you're using ActiveSky I presume you have checked "Don't use real weather," so the same is true for SB -- it is only displaying the METAR, not actually attempting to interpret it.I've had this same problem, but I believe it is more likely the result of some specific code in the METARs from VATSIM that is confusing ActiveSky. Regrettably, I haven't had time to try to track down the similarities in the troublesome METARs; however, I have encountered the same thing during several flights in the U.S., so I can at least tell you that it isn't limited to European METAR reports...~ Andy SutterMA825/KSFO (Meridian VA)kZAU ARTCC
