March 2, 200323 yr Had a look at the docs, but cant find the answer.I have Active Sky running on a second computer (through WideFS) and the weather is well displayed in FS2002.But: when I set the altimiter to the QNH in the METAR, the alt. of the airport is not right. Pushing "B" (normally leading to the right QNH) displays the right altitude, but with the wrong QNH.It must be something I'm doing wrong, but what?Kind regards,Stephan Haas
March 2, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Stephan,Perhaps what is happening is the baro smoothing is taking time to settle to the new pressure. This is normal. When you press B it will adjust to the 'point in time' setting but this can be changing. If you set to the reported altimeter setting via METAR, you should be fine once the pressure settles in. While it is changing, the altimeter will slowly climb or descend to the correct value. You may want to adjust the baro smoothing interval to speed this transition to your preference... Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 3, 200323 yr Had a quick look this morning and it seems it only happens at certain airports and in most cases with VATSIM weather. I'll have a further look this evening to see what is happening. I'll let you know the outcome.Kind regards,Stephan Haas
March 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi,Ok, that makes sense.. VATSIM has a problem with v1.15 right now (they changed their server script) which will cause a syntax error and default altimeter setting. This is probably what is going on. v1.6 due within a week!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
