March 10, 200323 yr Checked the "Disable Forced Wind Updates"Force range = 100nmAnd still ATC changes the runway on final almost every time?!What am i doing wrong here?/Peter
March 10, 200323 yr Peter,Looks like you are doing everything correct. We need a little more info. Are you running any other add-ons besides AS? Is your FSUIPC the latest version(2.972) and set up correctly? What are the settings for AS? Sorry you are having trouble. This feature does work. Hope this helps,Jim
March 10, 200323 yr Hello Jim!What i can tell you right now (because i am at work) is that i am running the latest FSUIPC 2.972 and has set it up as the A.S. documentation suggest.I use Dave March Flight Deck Companion, and PSS Airbus Pro as add-ons.I dont think there are any settings in those programs that could do any damage to A.s.I will take a screenshot of my A.S settings and post them here later this evening, just to make sure i have everything right./Peter
March 10, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi, double check your FSUIPC wind smoothing options - perhaps the winds are not getting to the new setting quick enough when the force switch occurs. Try experimenting for the best setting. Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 10, 200323 yr Peter, Thanks for the info and the screenshot. I know you didn't list it, but are you using a program called FSRealTime? There are issues with that.Something that as a trouble shooter I am going to ask you to do. In FSUIPC under Winds uncheck the "Transitions smoothed by layer" box. Take a flight that you think might cause your problem and see if it happens. If ATC does good, then go back and check that box and start with 10kt/sec. Retest and if ATC messes up, then start to lower that value. If you find a value that works then you are done. I realize that this will take some time, but we'll get it!!I use the second box for very slow changes(10) and have never been given the wrong runway using V1.15.Hope this helps,Jim
March 10, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi, also want to confirm that you are using destination FORCE, with a valid destination ID? This is required for proper FORCE operation to keep the landing winds consistent..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 11, 200323 yr Peter,One more thing. Are you using the wx Briefing Screen? If "No" then on the main wxRE screen, at the top, you must enter the ICAO code of the airport, click on get, AND make sure the DestinationForce box is checked.Hope this helps,Jim
March 11, 200323 yr Thanks Jim and damian!I guess i missed that in the manual :-newbieI havent entered the destination ICAO, and that is probably the problem. I will try it out this evening.Thank you for great support!/Peter
