Featured Replies

Hello,At the moment I'm realy dissapointed about ActiveSky.Everytime when AS update the weather, FS stutters! Its no problem when your high in the skie. But when taxieng or landing its something else.ThanksKappa[system]XP ProAMD XP3000+ CPU512MB DDR (A) [addons]FSFlightMax, FDC, SB, DEFAULT CLOUDS ON 65%

Kappa,Sorry you are having troubles. We know some users experience this, and we are working on it. Try running AS minimized to the task bar, turning down some sliders, and make sure force idle priority is checked.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Thank you, but...huhhh...wich sliders???1)my taskbar is minimized2)idle is checked3:my system works perfectly with very high framerate's! It drops only when AS is updating the weather!I never seen that before by other WX generators (free or with payment)!...and I uses a lot last 7 years! Why the heck should I lower my FS sliders???....strange support in my opinion? But thanks for your uhhhh...how will I call it "HELP"?Kappa

Hello,I use version 1.6.....with version 1.6 you told us that there where no more stutters in FS?...they still exsist? Thanks for your help,Kappa

Kappa,Are you using FSFLIGHTMAX export option, if so, does the problem go away when you disable this option? Have you tried the DISABLE ALL WX UPDATES DURING FORCE option? When you use this option you need to make sure you have a VALID ARRIVAL AIRPORT ID set and the FORCE CHECKBOX checked. This is the cause of 99% of ALL wxRE reported problems... Double check this please. You should not get stutters when this is working correctly as the engine will simply PAUSE and not update when you are within force. What are your update interval settings? Sounds like you have them WAY too low. FWIW I am referring to stutters caused by system processing OUTSIDE of FS2002. Not referring to FS2002 stutters caused by having too much scenery going on or too-high graphics options. So many variables yet you posted so little information. Please e-mail me [email protected] so we can get this resolved. Thank you and sorry the support was SO TERRIBLE.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table

Hello, I do not realy understand the 'DISABLE ALL WX UPDATES DURING FORCE' option? So if I fill in EDDM in the cusom/destenation field (dest. force checked), AS stops updating weather 60NM inbound EDDM to be sure? The stutters still occur without updating FSFlightMax. My update cycles are both set to 7 minutes. Thanks for your kind help!Kappa

Hi,That option will do just as described.. it will force a wx update once you cross the threshold of 60nm and then stop updating.Update METAR should be no less than 15 minutes, it does not really help and it can cause performance problems. FD/Export interval should be AT LEAST 30 minutes for the same reason, this is high-overhead stuff and at 7minutes for both settings it is no wonder you are having some performance problems. Try 15 minutes for METAR and 45 minutes for FD/Export, see if that helps. Also have you tried checking the "FORCE IDLE PRIORITY" box and have you tried running wxRE minimized? THanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table
