April 1, 200323 yr Hi Damian:I am using active sky 1.7 beta, and when the active sky flightwatch starts to "speak", a few words get out and then the whole system freezes up. This has happened with the 1.7 beta as well as 1.6. The only lockups I get occur when the flightwatch voice begins to give METARS for airports I am flying over. I have tried numerous video drivers, but still no luck. I am also running the most current version of FSUIPC. Thanks in advance ........Joe
April 1, 200323 yr Joe,Sorry you are having trouble with FlightWatch. To me it doesn't seem like a video driver issue. I would say to go back to your favorite version. It sounds (no pun intended) like a soundcarddriver issue. Can you list your soundcard model please? Also, can you click on a wav. file in a voice folder and hear it play? Any other add-ons? What plane are you flying in when this happens?JimActiveSky Support

April 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Guys,This could be a directX problem..Try running DXDIAG and check your sound settings.. try turning off sound acceleration, this is known to solve problems with sound playback through directX on some systems. Let me know if that helps!-DamianP.S. run the DXDIAG tests to make sure your system is configured properly for sound through directx...

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
