April 4, 200323 yr Hi Damian, just downloaded v1.7 and inststalled...but I miss the "cycle23z.wxd" and all associated (.met, .taf and .wmo). Any chance to have a copy of these files, please. On my home computer I don't have an Interent access so I need to have a copy of the original cycle files. Thank you.Enrico.
April 4, 200323 yr Enrico,Drop me a personal e-mail and I'll get you those files.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
April 4, 200323 yr Thank Jim for you VERY prompt reply. Please use [email protected] to drop those files. And, since I managed to install wxRe also in my office where I do have a proxy connection that anyway doesn't allow to download weather files thru the wxRE download section (access problems...) but allows me to download any NOAA file, I got the raob.fsl.noaa.gov address and I would like to ask you a question: which is the format supported by wxRE ?Many thanks.Enrico.
April 4, 200323 yr Files have been sent. Hope I sent all that you need. If not write back. I'll be off and on here all afternoon. (1/2 day at work!!). Not sure about the format of the files. Damian will have to come along and educate us.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
April 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi, here is the link:http://raob.fsl.noaa.gov/intl/fsl_format-new.cgiThis is for the aloft winds (I assume you're ok with the METARand TAFs right?).You just add sequential FSL entries to the .wmo file. If you search through the http://raob.fsl.noaa.gov/ page you can just search for "All stations", using 0-12Z only, and for ONE DAY ONLY (the server won't let you get more than that). The date should be today (zulu time) for the entire day 0-23Z. Experiment with the search options to get what you need. Once you get the report, save the file as the .wmo and you're all set! April 4, 200323 yr Seeeeee I knew he would answer!!!. He was typing an answer in another thread at the same time I was typing my answer to you. And to think he and I are three time zones apart.JimActiveSky Support
April 5, 200323 yr Thank you both Jim and Damian,as usual you're EXTRA supporting your add-on, that is the best one on the market !I'll try the winds aloft in the format specified (I was a little puzzled with the many options in the NOAA site), many thanks and yes, I'm OK with both the METARs and TAFs. I think that implementing the real soundings is much better than the Forecasts, because it much closer to the "real thing" and in this way we can have consistent datas (when available...the entire met network doesn't work always properly !) for all over the globe. Thanks again for your very very very nice work and have a nice weekend.Enrico.
