April 5, 200323 yr Alex,Sorry you are having trouble. Try this: Make sure you have a good Internet connection. Startup AS and go to online mode. Download a new set of weather files, then change to offline mode. Version 1.7 uses a different set of files for offline use. Another thing to keep in mind is that depending on Internet traffic and/or server traffic, timeouts may occur. We are doing our very best to use servers that eliminate these things. Keep trying and let us know if you are still having problems.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
April 5, 200323 yr Commercial Member Also, double check your UTC conversion value - if DST has just changed you will need to adjust your value. See the post at the top of this forum for more info. I really think you just had a bad connection to the server at that point. You can retry until a successful download completes.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
April 6, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi,The problem is the connection from your ISP to the new offline winds download source. The site is http://raob.fsl.noaa.gov/ to test your connection. If you are unable to get a good connect and download from this site at this time, you can manually create your cycle sets using an empty or old winds file, until the problem clears up. Or maybe someone here can post a nice cycle set for you to use?-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
April 6, 200323 yr Hi Damian, For the whole day battling with activesky, At last I found the solution & also is part of bug of this software. The problemis related to IE 6. If your IE 6 remain at offline mode, then your ActiveSky will not be able to download metar data from internet(For the last whole week, I trial up Netscape V7.02 & I put IE v6 at offline mode). Damian, I strongly believe, your ActiveSky source codes for downloading the metar data is integarted with IE function, please aware of this issue for some one using Netscape & turn the IE to offline mode. Anyhow, thanks for the great support & can't wait for yourActiveSky v2.0. Excellent product !!!B/Regards...Alex Ooi
April 13, 200323 yr Hi Damian, I didn't have a bad connection to my ISP. I still can doweb surfing & everthings. The only things when I hit the 'Autodownload & create new' button at Active Sky 1.7, I neversee any of my modem LEDs blink. It look likes same things happened at ActiveSky v1.7. For previous version, I do not facing this problem before. I stay at Malaysia & my UTC time set to +8 same as mycomputer. I have totally no more idea to deal with this problem.I need your help urgently. Please see my setting attachment file.B/Regards......Alex Ooi
