April 5, 200323 yr Hi AllI have posted tihs on the RC forum as wellIf I try and run these three together then FS crashes when I ask for a weather briefing. FS works with RC3.01 and with Activesky 1.7 fine individually but repeatably crashes with both together. Am I missing something obvious?thanksJon
April 5, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Jon,3 other reports of this. I think this is a directx problem (have never heard back from the folks who had problems, so I think they solved it). The fix is to turn off sound acceleration in DXDIAG sound setup. Also run the diagnostics in DXDIAG to make sure all is well. If you have problems you might want to reinstall directx. Let me know if this works.. thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
April 5, 200323 yr Hi DamianThanks for that. I have now established that whatever caused it has scrambled all my ATC via FS. If I try to get ATIS I get back-ground wav and then a crash. If I use regular FS ATC I get no sound. I'm re-installing FS now to get back to something clean which hopefully will work. Then I will try the fix you suggestJon
April 7, 200323 yr DamianNot sure if this is a fix - the 'combination' had stopped my ATC working in FS and everytime called up ATIS it crashed FS whether the other progs were running or not. Finally had to do a completely clean re-install because I was getting scenery object errors when U installed over my existing installation - bit nervous about trying it all again.......I turned down hardware acceleration in Dxdiag - if I turn it off them my sound is garbled.........
