wxRE 1.7 Active Station Query

Featured Replies

An example:I position myself at EGLC for a trip to EGCC, start ActiveSky and let it do it's stuff. On the Wx briefing I set departure as EGLC and destination as EGCC and it gives me a METAR and TAF for the depature at EGLC........but on the main screen it gives me EGKB as the active weather station (distance 11nm).Why doesn't it give me EGLC since I'm sitting on the tarmac there and a METAR obviously exists because it's given me it in the Wx briefing?Any suggestions appreciated.Kind regards,Stuart

Stuart,Try hitting the refresh button on the main screen. I'm in the middle of a flight right now and can't try your airports. Let us know how you come out.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Jim,Thanks.I've tried Refresh - doesn't make any difference. It still insists my active station is EGKB when I'm sitting at EGLC.I'm really annoyed at the the moment - not with you guys, more with myself, because I'm one of those users who read about problems on this forum but didn't really have any myself up to and including V1.6 - I had no problems getting radar returns from Flightmax, no problems getting winds aloft etc etc.But now with V1.7, the first time I always get a timeout ("trying on next interval..", the second time I get "invalid response from winds aloft server", and the third time (Refreshes these are by the way), I normally get the data - it's very reproduceable! And at the same time I have this little interesting thing with EGLC!But I'm sticking with it 'cos I love ActiveSky anyway - just wondering if I should go back to V1.6!!!???Regards,Stuart

Stuart,I can get it, but I have to enter EGLC in the Custom/Destination airport. It could be that the weather reporting station is not at the airport EGLC so that may make EGKB the closest station. Damian will be along sometime and might know more. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi Stuart,I found an error in the icao.txt database file for this station. You can fix by editing your icao.txt file, changing the entry for EGLC. It should read:EGLC,N,51,30,E,000,03,5I have fixed for future version releases.
