July 14, 200322 yr Hi There, I recently have downloaded the 1.87 version of ActiveSky wxRE.When flying in France and in generally in the european countries (flying the A3xx PSS series) everything looks OK, I mean winds aloft (speed, direction and temperature). The values given on the different ECAM are exactly those given in the ActiveSky wxRE window, and the bird is perfecly flying. When flying in the Middle East countries (Israel, Saoudia Arabia, Pakistan etc...), winds aloft (speed and direction) are OK, but the temperature is absolutely wrong. For example temp given in the ActiveSky wxRE window at 35000 ft is -51deg when the temp given on the ECAM is +1 or +2 deg. This causes a problem in the autopilot when climbing or crusing and to continue my route I have to move between GO AROUND and CL positions in order to maintain the correct speed. When closing ActiveSky wxRE v1.87, immediately the bird is flying correctly !!This does'nt occur in the european countries. Is it a bug or something else ? Apologize if my english is not very good, I hope that my explanations are comprehensive. Regards
July 15, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hello,Your english is fine! :) To confirm, with the PSS A3xx you are OK in France but not in the Middle East? This is strange, and I don't know what it could be off the top of my head, but let's look into it further...Please try using a default MS aircraft a see if there is a change. If not, please send me some screenshots of the Main and status screens + the FS advanced weather dialogue showing the single temp layer.. please send to . Thanks for your help troubleshooting this..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 15, 200322 yr Hi Damian,Many thanks for your reply.I am just thinking that I forgot something very important to tell you. This phenomena occurs when I am flying with IVAO. There are possibly interferences between the weather sent by ActiveSky and the one sent by IVAO ??Nevertheless I will send you the screenshots you are asking. I will try to do that this afternoon (Paris time).Didier:)
July 15, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi, yes there can be a problem here.. make sure with SB you have "Ignore real world wx" checked... otherwise the two programs will fight for control of the wx. Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 16, 200322 yr I'm currently using ActiveSky 1.5. Know about the NOAA parsing problem, should I be using the SB "Ignore real world wx" also? What does "Ignore real world wx" mean anyways? What is the basic difference between SB's wx and ActiveSky's wx? It's the same source, correct?I have noticed that ICAO airport databases are at least slightly different, and FSFlightMax still different again. Is there a definitive source of reporting stations for wx, either internationally or at least here in the United States?>Hi, yes there can be a problem here.. make sure with SB you>have "Ignore real world wx" checked... otherwise the two>programs will fight for control of the wx. July 16, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi,Yes you should always "ignore real world wx" in SB when using any other weather add-on, including ActiveSky 2002. This option disables SB's own weather system (which downloads and sets weather from the network i.e. VATSIM or IVAO in a very simple fashion), and returns control to other weather add-ons.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 17, 200322 yr Hi Damian,Finally this is the right way to get good and accurate meteo informations.I have discussed this matter with an IVAO responsible and the best way is the one you suggested.I thank you very much for your help in fixing my problem, now everything is OK.Best regardsDidier
July 17, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Didier, Glad it's working now! -Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
