August 16, 200322 yr I have run into a problem were I'll be departing from KCOS (Colorado Springs) to KMKC (KC Downtown). I'll noticed this and on several other flights that it keeps updating the KCOS (and other airports as well) weather station and not moving to the closest available. However, if I minimized FS2004 and hit the refresh button it will finally update with the closest weather station. I have the free version of FSUIPC 3.04 and FS2004. I can email screens as necessary. Thanks!
August 16, 200322 yr Anthony,Under Options, please make sure that the "Update METAR On New Station" is checked. Let me know if this helps!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
August 16, 200322 yr Yes sir that is checked. It will update sometimes but usually when it stops moving to the next wx station is either when it has dynamic in parenthesis or when it says taf unavailable. I unchecked taf processing and it seemed to help a little bit but it still does it.
August 16, 200322 yr It's still going on. I re-installed and left the defaults (for the most part). This time I got some screens of everything when it happened. In this instance I started with KBNA wx... after about 20 min. it keeps updating KBNA but when I minimize FS2004 and go to ASWxRE it shows a closer weather station but doesn't update with that one!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31158.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31159.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31160.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31161.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31162.jpg
August 16, 200322 yr Anthony,Thanks for all the info. Yes, I see that the closest station is not getting loaded into wxRE as the active station. If your Internet connection can handle it, decrease the time of your "METAR Update Interval" and see if this helps.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
August 17, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Anthony,In the status screen, METAR DATE/TIME is showing UNAVAIL... this means that the METAR request for station KCMA from the NOAA server failed for whatever reason. Probably an internet communication problem. wxRE has thus reset your wx to last. There is also a TCU bug that I have identified, which may be part of this problem. Please email me at [email protected] and I'll send you a test .exe to try with the fix... Thanks!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
August 17, 200322 yr I unselected the option update winds aloft on new station and changed the updates to more frequently and all that has seemed to work for the time being. I would be willing to try out the new fix as well.
