I got FltMax displaying weather useing AS 1.9 beta3. However the returns only show up 150 to 200 miles out. I get nothing to show up close even though it's raining and lightning all around. If I chase the radar returns, the closer I get they start to disappear from screen. Just wondering if anyone figured out a way to make ehcos show close up storms??Bill M

Hi Bill,Hmm that sure is a strange one... haven't ever heard of this issue before - there is probably something wrong with your configuration! Please post your wxre.ini and fsflightmax.ini files for us to look at! Thanks..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Hi Bill, thanks for that..Ok, your TAF processing is enabled, which is not recommended for FSFlightMax use. What happens is the TAF processing engine will change your active weather in the sim if the METAR report is old (according to the forecast), while FSFlightMax simply looks at the METAR (regardless if it is old/inactive or not). The end result is inconsistent radar displays as you have mentioned..Turning TAF processing OFF should do the trick.. let me know how it goes!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Hello DamianI unchecked the TAF processing. Went to New Orleans AP, where it was raining and Lightning flashes all around. Again the only weather showed up was about 200 mi out. Could not get anything close.Bill M

Hi Bill,Hmmm, at this point I think it may be a FSFlightMax interface issue, but I'm not that familiar with it and have never heard of this problem. Are you refreshing wxRE after changing locations in FS? Have you checked your tilt? Can you confirm you have selected NONE in the ActiveSky options menu (with FSFLIGHTMAX)?Please also send me your wx-export.met file, which is the data FSFlightMax is using. It SHOULD have the proper METAR entries for all airports within 400nm, with precipitation tags if they exist. This needs to be verified. Send me the file and let me know which airport you are testing this at. damianc@hifisim.com. Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Hello DamianI loaded Fltmax with weather generated by Fs and it showed fine. I reinstalled AS useing the base and lateset build only. Went back to Lexington, KY loaded AS and weather showed right on top of me even at 50 mi out. It seems to be working fine now. Thanks for your help.Bill M
