November 11, 200322 yr Hello Damian & Jim,I'm a long time user of wxRE and it works fine almost always. Just a sdumb question: how does wxRE habldes the PROB (probability) modifiers in TAFs ? I tried to sort it out in many flights, but I didn't find evidence of handling these PROB...Example: let's imagine we got a TAF with the PROB40 RA string ? How does wxRE use this info ? Will it in about half the time put the rain ?Thanks.Enrico
November 11, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Enrico,PROB is not fully supported.. It will only use it when there are no other elements and it will thus use PROB as guidance towards changing weather. But mainly PROB is ignored because it is assumed that if the probability of certain weather is good, then it will depicted by From, Becoming or Temporary elements instead. In addition, if the "PROB" actually becomes true, then it will be depicted in METARs as well (if you are using online updates).Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
November 12, 200322 yr That helps sure, many thanks. So I assume that the TEMPO modifier is better modelled and wxRE will "temporarily" change the weather according to the forecast in the "TEMPO timeline".Many thanks, Damian.
November 13, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi,That is correct...-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
