Memorable Flight with AS2004

Featured Replies

Hi All,I would just like to comment that Activesky 2004 has raised the level of realism to FS2004.I also had a few issues with the setup, but after a bit of tweaking, i have managed to get the product to do as it says it will with minimal issues.Planned a test flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore using FSbuild 2, PMDG 737 SU2. Late afternoon departure. Weather for KL, fine and 32 degress, light winds and 3-4 OCTAS cloud coverage. The normal late afternoon rush on flight had me waiting for about 10 minutes for takeoff clearance.Departed off 32L, left turn and down the coast to WSSS. Checked the weather for Top of descent, expecting rain in singapore, with a TEMPO on the TAF for TS with 2k vis, moderate winds, 02L ILS. I decided on a manual approach. Well, the weather report was correct and i arrived in the middle of the storm, with some spectacular lightning strikes and heavy rain. This flight just proved to me that AS2004 is worth every cent, i look forward to many more flights like this. Only had one instant change in clouds near top of climb, apparently this is normal.Regards,Darren

Darren,Thanks for the great report!JimActiveSky Support

But I thought the instant cloud change thing was not supposed to happen at all? FS9 default online weather has a pretty decent cloud transition engine.

Only had one>instant change in clouds near top of climb, apparently this is>normal.>Yes, I noticed that kind of thing on my first flight soon after buying AS2004. If I flew near the clouds or under them, I had ALL KINDS of quick visability & full area cloud redraws. But if I was lets say 2500 or so about the clouds in my case I went up to about FL300 and never had 1 massive cloud redraw again over a period of about 70-80 minutes. And during that times did the scenery look very nice. Though I'm a bit worried about all below cloud deck visability & cloud redraws I was seeing.
