Question AS2004 Settings

Featured Replies

hi,congrats to your new product - long awaited!first impression was "ok" as i encountered severe stutters with my first flight (although cloud formation was impressive...). reboot didn't help as well as reducing AI or any other performance hitter.(Chris Willis cloud textures are installed together with other fs2004 tweaks)played with the different settings in fsupic as well as in as2004 ...changed "cloud layer limit" from 10 to 5 and voila, no more stutters.could u pls explain in more detail the cloud layer limit? what will/can be the impact in reducing this limit? i.e. no more solid overcast layer...?second, if i do not load any flightplan and therefore do not process it, ActiveSkywatch will not report the station entered in "custom station report? third and last:current metar for LOWW:LOWW 201950Z 15010KT 0200 R29/0700N R16/0700N FG VV001 M01/M01 Q1020 voice atis do not read any visibilty. so, after my stutters problem is finally solved i'm highly impressed with AS2004!thanks for help and support.cheers, harald heidinger/lowwsystem specs:WinXP Pro (SP1)Intel P4 2,6 @3,091GB PC32002x60GB in RAIDFS2004

Harald,Thanks for the positive report!1. Kind of speaks for itself. It is possible to get up to 10 layers of clouds. Lowering this should not affect solid overcast layer. That option can also cause a performance hit.2. No, correct as designed. Custom station report is a fast way of getting conditions at any ICAO. BTW always try to use a processed flight plan.3. That 0200 is the visibility. Have a feeling that ActiveVoice did not recognize it as the vis.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
