December 26, 200322 yr CTD, another one!!Get the splash screen, comes up for a second, then FS9 just fades away.I ctrl-alt-del, to check the processes that are up. FS9 shows up after I click on the icon, so does ~E5D141.tmp (no idea what that is) and wmiprvse.exe as well. Never noticed the wmi process showing up, I'm assuming FS9 is trying to load something. I've changed two things since the last successful flight with FS9. I updated NAVDATA and ran ActiveRadar Connector2 (AS2004) with AS2004 on my WideFS computer. No joy though, anyone have any ideas what's causing this? Thanks,
December 26, 200322 yr I'm certainly no expert on this one, but the WMIPREVSE.exe is an XP "windows management interface" plug related to sharing files over a network - so it could be related to the wideFS setup, or at least that's why its running. Try starting just FS9 without other programs such as widefs or activesky running and see if you still get the CTD...Do you normally start FS with the create a flight dialog open, or do you start in the cockpit? If its the latter, crashing at that point could be a texture issue - do you have any textures loaded that require render to texture on, such as replacement water or cloud textures?Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
December 26, 200322 yr I deleted the FS9.cfg, restarted and she started right up. Does Activesky 2004 make any changes to the FS9.cfg when using activeradar connector2?I'll try again. Thanks,
December 26, 200322 yr Found the problem (I think).I installed FSHotseat2, and deleted the change that FSHS2 makes to the FS9.cfg under:situation=I changed it from the default FSHS situation to blank, so the cessna comes up. Now it seems to work, will have to try out FSHS now to make sure.Oh BTW, Activesky 2004 is working great though, radar and everything off of widefs.thanks,
