  1. Does anyone know if these repaints work with the C-130 now included with P3D v4.3? It's the CS bird, so I'll probably give it a go! EDIT - I also can't seem to find them in the AVSIM library either...
  2. Now THAT looks cool - checking it out now...
  3. Thanks Ernie. I'll check plan-G. I'm hoping to be able to take advantage of the touch screen for added input.
  4. Hi all, I've recently inherited a surface pro 3 that I've got on my Windows 10 home network. I should be able to something cool with it in FSX:SE, no? I was thinking moving map, flight planner, maybe radio stack. I just don't know what's out there and what's good that will add to realism. Suggestions welcome! Thanks, sg
  5. A bit of effort getting it all working, but I'm a happy simmer. Forgot to mention REX TD4 and Soft Clouds and FSG 10m mesh...THX!
  6. couldn't find a place to post this on FSG's website, but hopefully Justin will pop in, if not, I know you guys will be able to help. 1. Does FSGs 10m US mesh (http://www.fsgenesis.com/fsx-united-states-terrain-mesh) include Alaska and Hawaii at 10m res? 2. I'm primarily running P3D and FSX:SE these days, any experience (+/-) installing into these? 3. Any coupons, Justin?
  7. Yes, for me, the new version of UTXv2 performs much better (little to no FPS change compared to stock P3D v2.4) than the FSX version of UTX v1 ported to P3D. As always, your mileage may vary !
  8. There's two informative posts on what the key features of this upgrade are over at the Flight1 boards. To summarize: The big value for me is native support for P3D (the prior FSX versions for some reason drained performance in P3D for me. The new version does not.) Also yes, upgrade path is FSX v1 to *BOTH* FSX and P3D v2.
  9. Just an observation, at dawn/dusk, shadows seem to have an extreme effect on FPS for me in P3D v2.4 - I can rationalize that longer shadows impact more objects at those transition times, hence require a ton more computing power. Minimizing which objects cast and receive shadows minimizes the issue. Has anyone else observed this? Thanks, sg
  10. Hi all, There's a similar unresponded to thread here, but I thought I'd try a different subject line. On SimTweak.com, the link to SweetFX Configurator v1.33 (includes default SweetFX 1.5.1) is broken. Any alternate sources or updates? Thanks! sg
  11. Does anyone know how much the REX4 weather engine will cost?
  12. With all the raving about how great the price is, I'm sure the next add on will be back to $29.99. Thanks a lot, guys. :D When do we get Flight freeware? I still think $5 is more like it....
  13. Quick update from my end - just installed the latest version via steam and this issue has been resolved for me!
  14. Quick update to this - installed the latest version of flight via steam, and this issue is fixed...
  15. Uninstalled/reinstalled, ran in window mode, no Vsync, same crash right at the place, near the yacht. Error reports still empty. Had trace on for GPU. Temp maxed at 65 oC, GPU usage was less than 50% with a max of 62%...Oh well. I'll stick with FSX i guess...
  16. I'm having a similar issue. However, I get no error messages, just straight to desktop. My rig is i7-950 at 4.2ghz/12mb RAM/GTX570 1280DDR5I'm running FSX well, as well as many other graphics intensive games...I've tried reducing all settings without success.Made it through first mission without any issues, my crash is always on the second mission, somewhere near the yacht.
  17. Just installed flight, I actually enjoyed it for what it is. For about ten minutes, then, in the second mission (fly to yacht), I get a CTD. Anyone else have this issue? No error message, just straight to desktop. Her ukelele playing wasn't that bad! Crash occurs right after that, somewhere near the yacht, and is preceded by some textures failing to load...I've reduced all settings, uninstalled/reinstalled, etc. My rig is solid ([email protected]; EVGA GTX 570 w1280DDR5; 12GB ram (runs FSX acceptably)
  18. Programs which monitor the temperature of your card and display it on screen (such as MSI afterburner) can cause CTDs. Try shutting any monitoring programs just to see if it works...
  19. I got my water back by UNINSTALLING then REINSTALLING shaders model 30, downloaded directly from Bojote's page. Thanks,sg
  20. Thanks for the reply Thunderbolt, however shaders30 and FSWC worked fine before, so I don't think that's the issue. It's been a few weeks since I've fired up FSX, and during that time, unfortunately, there's been a lot of changes to the system (nVidia drivers, many win7 updates, a lot of other software installed) but just a few that should affect FSX so dramatically. I'm going to try to roll back the video drivers, see if that's the problem, but I was hoping someone might have seen this problem before...
  21. Hi FSX gurus,I thought I'd seen it all, but this is new. Suddenly, my open water is gone. just untextured plain jane surface. I've had several updates recently, just looking for some help pinpointing the cause of this one. Update nvidia drivers to 270.61. Updated MyTraffic to 5.3b. Probably some others...Thus far I've re-applied REX textures, reapplied FTX zone, reapplied FSwaterConfigurator options. Tried backing up and deleting fsx.cfg and scenery.cfg.I'm running shaders 30 by Bojote with his web-app optimized FSX.cfg (was working fine). Some other background:nvidia 460 1gb, [email protected], 8gb ram. Here's a photo of what I'm seeing in all lakes, bays and oceans. I don't want to wipe and start over. Thanks a ton in advance for any tips...
