Second mission (wedding yacht) CTD

Featured Replies

Just installed flight, I actually enjoyed it for what it is. For about ten minutes, then, in the second mission (fly to yacht), I get a CTD. Anyone else have this issue? No error message, just straight to desktop. Her ukelele playing wasn't that bad! Crash occurs right after that, somewhere near the yacht, and is preceded by some textures failing to load...I've reduced all settings, uninstalled/reinstalled, etc. My rig is solid ([email protected]; EVGA GTX 570 w1280DDR5; 12GB ram (runs FSX acceptably)

Are you by any chance running Vista ?if the crashes happen at shutdown or the end of a mission only.......this is a known problem with Vista. The only workaround for now is to use Win 7 or XP 32 bit.The devs said this will be fixed in a future update. Fred.

Just as Fred said,But In case you are not running Vista.I had something similar on one PC, but managed to get past the “Wedding Party Mission” by turning VSync off and set the game to windowed mode.If you care to try then, when the game starts select Options -> Graphics and uncheck both Full Screen and Vertical Sync.Lowering overall graphics setting has also been reported to work (apparently not in your case)If you manage to get past the mission, then you can reset your graphic settings.Good Luck

Hmm, I am pretty confident I have seen at least one other post with this exact same issue - in the exact same mission at around the same time in that mission...Has been a while though, and can't recall that it ever came to a resolution.Perhaps if it was resolved that individual will come across this post and share. In addition to the feedback you get here, you might also email all the details to the Flight team:[email protected]Best of luck,

I had never had a CTD with Flight until AMD decided to do an "automatic update" of drivers. I started having "issues" like CTDs and stuttering. I went into device manager and "rolled back" those new drivers and I'm back to flying without problems. Sometimes, the latest and greatest is not.

Holy cow - get in there and disable auto updating. Man that would drive me nuts, a graphics driver auto updating itself. When a new one is released, I always wait and read some feedback at least a day or two after release to make sure there are no glaring and immediate issues...Glad to hear you were able to roll back and get rid of that issue!

I'll wait a week before I do an update. I've heard reports that the Catalyst 12.2 drivers have problems. I'm still using 12.1 drivers.Best to disable ALL automatic updates. I've seen problems that seem to come from Windows Defender updates, even manually, if I don't reboot afterwards. I finally disabled Defender and rely on NOD32 for the same protection.Hook

Gridley,Do you know where your Event Viewer is?Go to the start menu and type: eventvwr in the search box just above the start menu, nd then click it when it apears in the search list above.Search in the Application Log for a red X around the time of your crash; double click the red X and post the text in the resulting wondow here..bestjake

Quick update to this - installed the latest version of flight via steam, and this issue is fixed...
