December 12, 200223 yr Greetings all! I'm sick of interrupted downloads (no, not from this site) due to a slow 'net connection. Could anyone please recommend a download utility that will reconnect and resume the download after the connection is lost?I searched the forums here for "download accelerator" and "download utility" but nothing came up. I apologise if this question has been addressed before.Regards,ScottKJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
December 13, 200223 yr I have Lightning Download from getright.com (I think that is the site). It is shareware and you can have it for 30 days as a trail. I use this now and it is a very useful tool as my internet connection is a bit dodgy sometimes and for those big files, you can pause and restart anytime.Colin

December 13, 200223 yr HELLOI have the latest version of Getright, but it works perfect in any download web except with AVSIM, it sits waiting to start downloading...times out ....waits again... and on ...and on.....Any idea......ThanksJuan
December 13, 200223 yr I myself like Download Accelerator Plus, from Speedbit (http://www.speedbit.com/). Supports resumable download, and multiple-channel accelerated download. Really works. Shareware with annoying popup but long-term demo.I found that with Avsim, you have to run the download in PASV mode, then it works just fine.db
December 13, 200223 yr Thanks for all the replies and info!Much appreciated,ScottKJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
December 14, 200223 yr I deleted my Download Accelerator because it contains spyware. If you read the EULA, you'll see that when you click "I Agree" you let them plant spyware and adware on your comp. If this doesn't sound good, then maybe switch to the MSN 8 browser? It supports resuming. I don't know if it's worth it, the GUI on MSN8 looks a little weird.
December 14, 200223 yr I use Getright its payware but i can download webpage pics.. and files no problem at all been useing it sice version 3.
