Invisible clouds?

Featured Replies

HiI have been reading in this forum and have seen some others with problems that might be the same as my. I only bought AS2004 to get rid of the problem with "invisible clouds" when looking down.It is hard for me to explain, but when I am at the airport I have a bkn og overcast with rain. When I lift the plane up then I suddenly can see the airport from above.I have attached 2 screenshots.BrSteen Pedersen

Hi,Is overcast enhancement on in AS?Cloud density set to the highest level in FS?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

I have checked them both and they are as they should.I think it is the same problem as many others. I have just checked an airports with OVC1600 - and when I stand on the ground everything looks fine, but when I move above the clouds they disappear. It seems like the layers I have below disappears.Steen Pedersen

Hi Steen,I notice Cirrus layers here were there should be Cumulus with overcast enhancement on. Thus the low density. The appearance of the clouds disappearing is simply due to the visibility lifting at the cloud layer. Notice the clouds are the same from below or above, only the visibility is restricted when on the ground. As to why no cumulus, this is odd. Could I get the ID here? I'll run some tests... FYI I am working on this issue as we speak and have already come up with a fix, but need to verify this based on your report...
