cloud/visibility change

Featured Replies

I know you are working on fixing some bugs with the clouds. Just like to say I think your program is great. If it helps I'd like to give an update about my ongoing concern that I've posted before. The classic problem for me has been on approach to a destination. At times the clouds will just clear but even more common and more frustrating is what happened last night....the visibility of one half mile I was anticipating at KBOI disappeared (I know it was there because I did "go to airport" to see it before the flight, then changed to back to SEA to fly there and replicate this problem). At about 500 ft agl (which by the way happened to be about the lowest cloud base) the visibility went to at least twenty miles and the runway was clear as a bell. . The low cieling was still there but my low half mile vis approach to the deck was terminated. I am a CFII in real life, this is definitely a simulation anomoly of some kind. I'll send my as2004 settings. I clear all weather and use min sets on the fsiupc as per your procedure. My FS9 sets are per your current recs as well.thanks, doug //AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 5160WindowPosY = 5205DefaultWeatherFolder = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 10LocalSuppressionRange = 60OnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = TrueVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = FalseDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 15VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -8TAFProcessing = FalseWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE

Hi Doug!I think this is related to the route-based wind smoothing issue...Update 1 unofficial alpha release 1 should happen in the next 24 hours, and should fix this issue.. please try it and let me know if this is solved.. thanks!-Damian
