wxRE: Crashing FS02Pro?

Featured Replies

Hi,I have had Active SKy installed for a week now. Last night I managed to get the full downlaod with winds which is good, but since installing the program I seem to get some crashs in FS. I have had two now - first was using the Baron and the virtual view with ACtive Sky doing realtime weather, second was tonight with the Dreamfleet Archer and ckicking on the right view. In both cases the screen freezes and nothing will resolve it. In fact I have to switch the mains off and restart the PC.Has anyone else had this problems?I have an Athlon Xp2000, nividia card with 64 ram and 512 ram in the PC.Keith

Hi Folks,Does the fact that no -one has responded indicate that no one else has any 'crashes' with Active Sky & FS2002? Keith

Hi Keith,Highly doubt is has anything to do with wxRE...Have you changed / installed anything else near the same time? Usual causes of FS2002 crashes: Old video drivers, old sound card drivers, buggy scenery add-on, buggy ai add-on, hardware conflict.About .01% of the wxRE user base has reported similar crashes, all fixed by above and found not related to wxRE.I don't suspect the DF Archer, but what about your other add-ons? Updated your drivers lately?Does this help?-Damian

Thanks.I will try the new Nvidia drivers & see if that helps.Another quick question - in the AS manual it suggests changing the turbulence value in FS02 - How do I do that please?Keith

Keith,I don't have FS02 installed anymore, but if it the same as FS04 then open your FS2002.ini file and under Weather find TurbulenceScale=#.######Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
