January 15, 200422 yr Is there a reason with the current beta release of activesky2004 sp1, when I am flying over a station, and its reporting BKN 1400ft and Overcast 2300 ft, and I'm at 27,000 ft, I can see the ground under me?I have the settings set as you recommend for this release.
January 15, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi,There are a few reasons this could happen...1) You are outside of 2NM from that station, and variances are normal due to FS9 interpolation (you weren't really flying OVER the station, even though it was the "closest reported")2) You have reduced the density of the clouds via settings in FS9 or installed a 3rd party cloud add-on which reduces density of overcast clouds3) You haven't enabled overcast enhancement4) You are in mountainous terrain and the mountains/terrain is going through the cloud ceiling (normal). Remember cloud MSL heights are determined from the reporting station's elevation. Does that help? If not, please e-mail me [email protected] with some METAR strings and/or screenshots (best way).Thanks!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
