Temperature problem

Featured Replies

Hello all. Since using AS2004 I notice a temperature problem. I always start my flight at EHAM (below sealevel!). When I use AS2004 the temp always seems to be set at 30 or 31 degrees Celsius. It is OK when I use 1) no/clear weather, 2) FS2004 Jepessen weather, 3) the other weather addon. I will try to make it clear with some screenshots. I have used Weatherset2 from Pete Dowson and captured a status window and cockpit window of each situation. Here you see the result after clearing all weather, OKhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58256.jpgThis is what I get when using AS2004, not OKhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58257.jpgAnd finally the result of another commercial weather addon, OKhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58258.jpgI am using the AS2004 alpha update with FSUIPC v3.14. Have not tested this at another airport. I would like to know if other people see this behavior at EHAM.Thanks and regards,Hakkie

I did see the same. I looked at the data for EHAM and things looked good there. One for Damian to look at!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi HakkieSorry to be off topic here, but can you tell me what software you are using in the above attachments to display the weather data?ThanksGraham

WeatherSet2, that comes with every FSUIPC download.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Thanks Jim, do you forward this to Damian or does/is he supposed to read ALL topics in this forum?>I did see the same. I looked at the data for EHAM and things looked good there. One for Damian to look at!>>Hope this helps,>Jim>ActiveSky Support

Doh!Thanks Jim, when he said weatherset 2, I assumed it was a set of example weather files!I have been using FSUIPC for years, and bought V3 when released, you would think I would have known that by now!! CheersGraham

LOL, you posted this twice, but I'll just answer here! If I feel it is an emergency post I'll send him a e-mail alert. If not I pretty much leave it up to him. I always keep in mind that he has loads of other things to do also, not only with HiFi stuff, but with life in general. I know he does check every post and responds. Just know that I did all I could to look into your temperature situation. I am no programmer, but there are certain skills that I know and use before answering!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Yep, I indeed posted twice, sorry for that. Thought it would be clearer 'at the bottom' ;-) Well, this temperature thing is not an emergency. It may point to some error in the temperature calculation routines within AS2004. It could be wise to inform Damian. I do not need an urgent fix...Regards,Hakkie

I noticed this problem as well.I think it has something to do with the C to F conversion.Like today its 1 degree C at EHAM and the temp on the instrumentgauge indicated 28 C. (1 C is about 28 F ?)Greetings Eric.

1C is 21F, but these strange temps seem to only take place here and a few others! Also the METAR temp is in C and most panels are showing C in FS04.JimActiveSky Support

Haven't tested, but could this be related to EHAM (and maybe the 'others') being below sealevel?

That first day I thought I "raised" EHAM above sealevel and it didn't help. Maybe there is more to it?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

You raised EHAM above the sea! Wow, I thought us Dutchies were good at fighting the water... :-hahYes, it then seems there is more to it than being below sealevel. As said before, I do not need an urgent fix. Flew online with a friend in the Alps region yesterday with AS2004 providing the weather. Partly clouded, snowing and snow covered mountains.Simply amazing! :-yellow1
