Scenery.cfg organizer for FSX
A Google search for a scenery.cfg tool led me to this topic: http://forum.avsim.n...nizer-for-fsx/ It's too old to reply to it, so I thought to just mention here that I found this freeware/open source editor that does the job: http://fs-sceditor.s...net/index.html

TrackIR or CH Yoke
I would go for the yoke. Simulating aircraft needs realistic controls. Personally I prefer good controls over easy/realistic viewing in VC. And yes, I do own TrackIR4 as well and yes it's very good.

PDMG 737 NG Multi engine throttle problem
Search for 'Selection Correction gauge' by Rob Barendregt in the AVSIM file library and install it as instructed. Works fine here! :D Edit:BTW: This is an FS2004 related issue, not PMDG related.

Future of ActiveSky
Not sure if this was asked before. Considering the known weather limitations of FS2004, at this moment ActiveSky provides all I can think of. This made me wonder what you guys have in store for us in future releases. Just curious... ;-)

Upgrading from AMD 64 3500
@Gary: Thanks for your info. An occasional drop below 25 FPS is no problem. As long as the sim keeps running smooth it's ok. I hate that jerky view on short final... ;)@Rhett: If I go for it, I'll post the results here.

Upgrading from AMD 64 3500
Hi fellow simmers. Probably this was asked before, I'm sorry for that. Did try to search but could not find a thread with this hardware.I am now running an AMD Athlon 64 3500 on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. I have 1 GB of RAM and an ATI X800XL 256MB videocard. My intention is an Intel 6600 Core 2 Duo, an i965 chipset based motherboard, 2 GB RAM. Videocard will be upgraded later, SLI not needed. Is there anyone among us who also upgraded from an Athlon 64 3500? If so, upgraded to what? Can I expect an (ohoh ;) ) FPS boost in FS2004 running on WindowsXP? I'm using the mainstream addons: PMDG series, LDS 767, ActiveSky, Ultimate Terrain Europe, AI traffic pack, RadarContact and some detailed sceneries of my favourite European airports. I'm aiming at a minimum FPS of 25 during landing at 'busy AI airports' (like EHAM) with real world weather...Please share your upgrade experiences with me or direct me to a thread with usefull info. Thanks everbody!

FSX and wide-view monitor
Hi Dave, I'm also about to buy a 16:10 screen. Would it be possible for you to post a picture of the screen showing FSX incl. a 2D panel? Not that I don't believe you, it's just that I wonder what it looks like. Thanks!

Fantastic real hires pictures of B737-400 classic panel...
Not sure if this forum is the best one to post this. Moderator feel free to move/copy it.Take a look here! http://www.paolodeangelis.com/

Flight plan importing from PMDG
Hakkie replied to Jeff Nielsen's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumDon't know if you use FSNavigator, I do. I generate a flightplan in FSNavigator. Within FSNav the plan can be exported to PMDG format (to be imported in the FMC) and FS2004 (to be used by ASv6) format. In order to export to PMDG format, you need to download/install the proper DLL. It can be found on AVSIM (http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=38503). Don't know if there is a way to convert the PMDG FMC saved routes into FS2004 format...I believe the FSBuild (http://www.fsbuild.com) flightplanning tool also supports the PMDG and FS2004 format. I do not own FSbuild, so am not sure.

Using Filemon to fix stutters - I have a question
>It's strange. It will gook at some ai aircraft but a lot of>the ones it reads are not ai aircraft. In addition, it doesn't>read every aircraft, just enough to make it stutter.>>I would really like to figure this out because I believe this>is what is causing most of my pauses. >Just a thought: did you try without AI active to see if it still occurs?

ADSL routers and FS9
Adding to that:Almost any router supports multiplayer games initiated from a localy attached PC. So joining an FS multiplayer host is no problem. However, if you want to host a multiplayer session, you need to configure your router so it directs the incoming outside world traffic to the PC running as host.

Default 737
I don't know what the tutorial specifies, but is the autopilot used? Ones I had altitude set to 0 and turned on AP with ALT active while on the ground. The plane then tried to maintain the altitude of 0 feet no matter what I did....

10 years of Microsoft Flight Simming for me... How abou...
My first sim must have been in 1980, so about 26 years ago. Sub-Logic FS1 on the Tandy TRS80. Have also used Commodore C64 and Amiga versions. I then switched to the IBM platform. Have not missed a single version since then and still love it!

Black screen in the end of loading the flight..
Hakkie replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumIt would indeed try to re-install the videodriver. But before doing that I suggest you toggle the render to texture setting in FS2004. So switch it to the opposite of what you have now. I have seen weird things happen with this options set wrong. Not sure if this is the case now, but it's worth a try... Good luck!

Aircraft & scenery shadows
Hakkie replied to Hakkie's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi,Well, I'm not sure either. However, it IS possible to change the setting manualy while FS is running. Still, it could be worth looking into this...

Aircraft & scenery shadows
Hakkie replied to Hakkie's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi Jim,I am talking about the two builtin options of FS2004: (1) enable/disable shadows cast by scenery objects and (2) enable/disable aircraft shadows. They can be found in the regular options screens of FS2004. I was wondering if AS can toggle those weather based.Kind regards,Henk-Jan

Aircraft & scenery shadows
My FS shadow preference is scenery shadow off, aircraft shadow on. With shadows on, they always appear regardless of the wheather. Would it be possible to add (yet another ;-)) option in AS to have auto switching on/off of separately scenery and aircraft shadows depending on the weather? I don't know if it's possible at all. If so, switching off/on shadows while in flight will probably cause severe stutters? Anyhow, I think it would be a nice feature that could improve FPS during bad weather (if shadows are on per default user setting). Maybe you guys can look into this?Kind regards,Henk-Jan

Forgive me: total download size incorrect
Hello AS weather gurus. Forgive me for posting this message, as it's about a very very very minor issue... Did a search but could not find if it's been reported before:During a download the status says something like nnn of 370kb downloaded. However, each download seems to be about 390kb? Yes, yes, I know, but I warned you it was only minor! :+

My (REAL 737NG Simulator experience)
>... and was wandering if I download the mini DV tape into my computer using 'dazzle' and then get it on a 'Windows media player' format ...I would very much like to see a movie of your adventure. Windows Movie Maker has sufficient options/possibilities to capture, edit and convert your movie. Hope your find the time to get it done...Kind regards,Henk-Jan

Support Topic: ASG Errors, .Net 1.1 or later required For ASG
Hakkie replied to Chris Willis's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support Forum>Which one should we get...which one is more stable with Win>XP Home and FS9.1??I have only installed v2 and have no problems at all. As far as I know, v2.0 is not fully downwards compatible with the v1.x version. I'm not a programmer, but this it what I've been told. So if another application requires v1.x, you might endup with both versions installed. Good to know is that the .Net required files will only be loaded in memory when an application calls for it. So just installing .Net framework does not affect your PC's performance.
